John 10: 10   The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.  

This scripture plainly points out the intent of the enemy.  To steal, kill and destroy.  If we as christians understand this, then it should not be so hard to follow Christ and do His will because He has come to give us life and life more abundantly.  When the enemy tries to tempt us to go against the teachings of the Bible, he is trying to lead us to destruction, kill us, and steal from us.  That is exactly what he did in the garden of Eden to Adam and Eve.
