 Church of God In Christ

Can't We Just All Get Along? (continued)

Most Christian churches have one basic requirement for joining or becoming a member:  accepting Jesus Christ as your savior.  After this, everything else should follow.  This does not mean that you will never sin again or never make a mistake.  It does mean that you have an advocate with the Father:  Jesus Christ, the one you accepted.  (I John 2:1-2).  All religions cannot come together in one church because of the simple fact that other religions do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Son of God.  That fact sets Christianity apart.  Some religions consider Jesus Christ a prophet or a great philosopher, but not the son of God.  Others do not regard him at all.  Christians cannot align themselves, as far as salvation is concerned, with any group or belief that does not acknowledge Jesus as the only begotten Son of God.  That is contrary to the Word of God.  When the Word is preached, we preach that Jesus Christ is the way to eternal life.  Jesus himself stated that “I am the way, the truth and the life:  No man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6)  If you want to go to heaven, Christ is the only way!
