Warriors Ready for Battle
Do you realize that we are in a spiritual battle? Do you realize that you have to choose a side? In Ephesians 6 the Bible reads: 10. Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places 13. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and
having done all, to stand. (Later verses give details about the armour.) The enemy we see is not the true enemy. Yes, people may talk about us negatively, plot against us, misues and abuse us, but there is a spiritual element behind it. As long as we pay attention only to the enemy we see and not the enemy we do not see, we will not win the battle. Being a Warrior Ready for Battle means that you can recognize both enemies, the ones you see and do not see.
Weekly Scripture!
Are you a Warrior Ready for Battle? This week, meditate on the scripture below.
Ephesians 6
10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. 11Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 13Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; 15And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. 17And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Receive the Promise
Are you ready to receive what God has for you? Take advantage of every promise of God! Some of the children of Israel did not make it into the promised land because of their unbelief. They did not take advantage of God's promise. He told them that the land of Canaan was their land. After all of the great works that God had done for them: the plagues on the Egyptians, God leading them by a pillar of fire and a cloud, the opening of the Red Sea, manna from heaven and water from the rock, they still dared to doubt God. Let's make sure we do not follow their example. In tough times we must continue to trust in God. If we find ourselves in unbelief, We need to be like the man who said "Lord I believe, Help thou my unbelief. (Mark 9:24) God will make the promise and then give you the strength to hold out.
Can't We Just All Get Along?!
I gave a series of questions to a young man and asked him to answer them. One question was “What is the ideal church?” His answer was a church that accepts all people regardless of their religion. On the surface, this sounds like a good answer. Why shouldn’t everyone be accepted? In most cases, anyone can attend any church. The problem will arise if they try to join that church. (Continued)
Soul Food - Food for your Soul.
Are you hungry? Do you need food for your soul? Check this out.
When Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness, He fasted for 40 days. The Bible states that after the fasting, He was hungry. The devil came to Him and tried to tempt Him by offering Him different things if He would only worship him. After one of the temptations, Jesus told satan that man does not live by bread alone, but by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. This is a powerful statement made by Christ. (Continue)
Are You Approved?
II Timothy 2: 15. Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
As Warriors Ready for Battle, we must be sure to study the Word of God. Jesus told the Sadducees in "Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God." In order for us to have power as spiritual warriors, we must know the word of God. That is our offensive weapon. That is what we use to fight back against the enemy. Ephesians 6:17 states ....and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Speaking the Word to our situations, to our friends and family memebers can keep us encouraged and knowing that we have the victory no matter what it looks llike. The only thing we must do is make sure we study to show ourselves approved unto God.
